SUSTAINABILITY AT NO COST TO STYLE.
2nd Form Studio creates clothing and accessories from reclaimed textiles, deadstock, and secondhand fabrics — giving overlooked materials a second form. Ethically made in Calgary, Alberta, each piece blends classic silhouettes with unexpected textures, colours, and fabrics to create one-of-a-kind designs. The nature of sourcing reclaimed materials means no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
Meet the DESIGNER
For Lena de Waal, sewing began as a personal creative outlet and slowly transformed into something much bigger. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Lena started sharing handmade projects and designs online through an Instagram account @lena.madethis while exploring her growing interest in sustainable and circular fashion.
During her 18-month maternity leave, creating became a daily ritual; a way to reconnect with creativity self-expression. That experience ultimately led her to leave her management role in the arts industry and take the leap into building her own fashion label, 2nd Form Studio.
Today, Lena creates ethically made clothing and accessories from secondhand and deadstock materials, giving existing textiles a second life through modern, one-of-a-kind designs.
